Richmond Plains Syrah grapes have been handpicked from our vineyard to produce this exciting wine variety.
Tasting: Delicious dark berry fruits flavours with spicy and peppery notes. A big wine with concentrated sweet fruit and lots of fine tannins. Beautiful subtle oak characters linger on the long finish. A youthful wine now it will age gracefully for number of years.
Wine Making: The grapes were hand harvested, de-stemmed, crushed and then transferred to an open top fermenter. Traditional hand plunging of the cap was carried out throughout the wild ferment. The juice was then matured in French oak barrels where it aged for 16 months. The wine went through full malolactic fermentation in the spring and then blended, filtered and bottled.
Diet: This wine is suitable for a vegan diet.
An elegant rendition; the nicely lifted bouquet shows plum, spiced cherry, thyme, mixed spice and floral characters, followed by a juicy palate that is gently weighted and fruit expressive. The wine is supple and smooth with savoury complex flavours.
